To the north, Exmoor National Park (20 miles) is famous for its wild ponies, hilly walks, mountain bike trials, horse riding and climbing. But when you feel in need of a bit more civilisation, the Roman city of Exeter is just 15 miles away offering historic sites, fine dining, theatre shows and sporting events.
