From the pretty entrance to the open-plan living space with bi-folding doors that bring the outdoors in, you’ll feel very much at one with the spectacular surrounding countryside. Take advantage of the summer warmth on the decked area or summer house, and for those cooler months, cosy up on the sofa with the wood burner roaring, while you gaze out at the stunning scenery.

This adorable lodge nestled among the rolling hills of Devon is the epitome of rest and tranquillity. If its romance or an escape from the everyday you’re looking for, you won’t be disappointed. Inside is beautifully light, spacious and stylishly decorated. Laid-out on one level, it exudes a feeling of remoteness and privacy, like you’ve retreated to a log cabin in the middle of nowhere with just the sounds of nature to keep you company. But when you feel like venturing out for supplies or a local treat, the village of Morchard Bishop is less than half a mile away.

Being ideally situated in the middle of Devon, the county’s attractions are all within reach. To the south, Dartmoor National Park (15 miles) with its miles of trails winds through valleys with Neolithic tombs, Bronze Age stone circles and abandoned medieval farmhouses. To the north, Exmoor National Park (20 miles) is famous for its wild ponies, hilly walks, mountain bike trials, horse riding and climbing. But when you feel in need of a bit more civilisation, the Roman city of Exeter is just 15 miles away offering historic sites, fine dining, theatre shows and sporting events.

A short stay away with my friend was to be a very special event. I had not used Holliday Cottages before but was amazued at their professional attention, super helpful staff and their attantion to detail. Just immaculate. Our venue "Orchard View" turned out to be a beaitiful log built lodge in a wonderful tranquil spot with quietness and views to dRead moreie for. The log cabin is a perfect retreat sited in a wild meadow with cottage garden and orchard - a country idyll to unwind and relax. Some of the surrounding roads are somewhat narrow with tall hedging on both sides - turn off the satnav and return to use a paper map! Tucked away in heart of Devon, this log cabin of high quality tastefully furnished, comfortable bed, nice shower room, bifold doors out onto large decked area with quality ratan cushioned furniture, plenty of windows to let in light. The cottage is absolutely stunning and by the sounds of Richard's plans for the orchard, is only going to get more so. Our stay in Orchard View was the complete experience. It is situated within the rolling countryside of West Devon. The accommodation had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. On arrival we found a lovely welcome pack. We could not have asked for anything more.
