Great Torrington holiday cottages
Great Torrington self-catering cottages and holiday lets
Our accommodation in Great Torrington, a charming market town in North Devon, offers guests the opportunity to unwind amongst peaceful surroundings. Ideally situated to explore the best of Devon’s coast and countryside, our Great Torrington cottages are outside of the busier seaside resorts, but within easy driving distance of the beaches, with plenty of interesting attractions to keep everyone entertained. The historic town itself, at the centre of Tarka Country, has plenty to offer, with its own Arts Centre, a range of independent shops and a number of eateries. Set up high above the valley, it is surrounded by Torrington Common, a wealth of walking trails that meander around the outside of the town and lead down to the River Torridge below.
If you’re staying in one of our Great Torrington holiday cottages, be sure to visit RHS Rosemoor on the outskirts of the town. There is something for everyone there, from its seasonal trails and play areas for the kids, to its manicured gardens and bountiful vegetable patch for gardening enthusiasts. Much of our self-catering accommodation in Great Torrington is close to the Tarka Trail that passes through the town. It’s a 180-mile, figure-of-eight cycling and walking route, which you can follow north to Bideford or south to Meeth or Okehampton beyond. Just past Bideford is the stunning beach of Westward Ho!, with its golden sands, clean surf and variety of eateries. For something a little more rugged, Great Torrington is well-placed to access both Exmoor and Dartmoor National Parks.
